Lance is assigned the mission to travel to Corinth, pay the Princess’s ransom, and bring the Princess home. When the Kingdom has insufficient funds to pay for the ransom, Lance is thrown in the brig and the Princess is slated to be sold as a slave. Lance and Valorie manage to escape and travel to Iapetus, where a top secret Royal Special Forces base is located. While on Corinth, Valorie had hacked into Corinth’s computers and discovered that Zeno was building the “Omega” device, a weapon so powerful that he would be able to dominate the center of the Galaxy. Before lunch is served, the Senior Center Director announces that bingo will be held that evening. One of Sam’s long-time table mates, Lottie Weaver, asks him to go to bingo with her. Seeing her expression of eager anticipation, he reticently agrees. When Lottie does not show up that evening, he becomes extremely upset and assumes that she stood him up. Steve	Reduction in Force	“Reduction in Force” is based upon my personal experiences within large corporations in Silicon Valley. The story explores the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on Gil Schaffer, a Mechanical Engineer who has been laid off by his company unexpectedly. After remaining in a severe state of depression for several weeks, a close friend and associate, Denise Martin, convinces him to have a novel state-of-the-art medical treatment to erase his memory of the layoff experience. Unfortunately, the treatment wipes out much more of Gil’s memory than he had anticipated. The story concludes with Denise providing a very unique solution.	9955	16295
Steve	Annastasia	Annastasia is a Series 8 Mark 5 (S8-M5) android working as an Administrative Assistant at a US Government Agency in San Jose. She is invited to attend a Robot Rights rally at Saint James park. Midway through the rally she is attacked by Bart Rutger, a vigilante, and is nearly destroyed. Rutger is arrested and is charged with destruction of government property, disturbing the peace, mayhem, and resisting arrest. Evelina Torres, an Assistant DA, feels that Rutger should be tried for attempted murder. However, since androids are not considered to be people under the law, this is not possible. A pivotal point in the trial occurs when Evelina asks Anna to present her recorded memory of the attack.	6948	14384

Gil Schaffer and Denise Martin travel to San Diego to inspect Muriel, an old neglected Tayana 37 blue water sailboat. Although Muriel needs extensive refitting, the price is right, and Denise decides to buy her. They do as much as they can in San Diego to get Muriel ready. During the first two days of their passage they have excellent sailing conditions. When they round Point Conception the sailing conditions become horrendous. The port chainstay breaks and Gil has to jury rig a repair at sea to save them.	6657	12260
Steve	Human Relations	“Human Relations” is a story about the HR Director in a Silicon Valley start-up company who must resolve an incident that occurs between the Manufacturing Pilot Line Supervisor and a Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer. News of the conflict between the two employees over wearing a COVID mask rapidly escalates through the management chain. The HR Director is put under extreme pressure by a Corporate Associate Vice President to fire the two employees. He does not want to do this and gets help from a most unusual HR consultant to resolve the situation.	5630	3000
Steve	The Stargazer Gift Shop	“The Stargazer Gift Shop” is a story about Rhoda, an android shopkeeper at the Corinth Space Station’s Stargazer Gift Shop. The story describes Rhoda's interaction with the main characters in "The Princess of Tanazia", who visit the shop while they are on the station. In the final part of the story, Rhoda must deal with a little girl, Agatha James, who has stolen a gumball from the shop and tries to leave with it. When the shop’s security alarms go off and its security grate slams down, Agatha is trapped. She is absolutely terrified. Agatha’s parents had instilled a deep fear of androids in her mind and she is afraid that Rhoda will either kill or torture her. It takes all of Rhoda’s human relation skills to alleviate Agatha’s fears and to gain her trust.	7367	17052
